Russell Heritage
I’m Russell Heritage and I’ve been playing golf since I was 7. This year I turn 22 and after 11 years experience as a junior I would like to offer advice on the best route to competitive enjoyment in golf for juniors.
My dad got me into golf and after a short amount of time practicing down the driving range and on various pay and play courses I joined my first golf club at the age of 11.
This is where I received my first handicap of 48. The head professional at my first golf club held coaching sessions which I participated in for a few years until I had reduced my handicap, and was ready to play for the junior team. After various achievements in golf, at the age of 17 I decided to take my game to the next level. Practising more, playing more and seeking more advice to get to the next stage.
Age 20 I had competed in National competitions and played a handicap of +2. After a few seasons of competitive amateur golf I decided to turn professional. I have been coaching and offering advice now for around 18 months and thoroughly enjoy what I do.
